ESO Clinical Fellowship Programme The European School of Oncology is pleased to announce its 2011 Clinical Fellowship Programme. The aim of this programme is to support the training needs of European oncologists willing to improve their clinical skills in a specific area of cancer medicine. Eligible candidates to the programme must have at least 3 years’ experience with cancer patients, describe the aims of the requested training period, have a letter of support by their head of department and a letter of acceptance by the host institutions. Priority will be given to EU citizens and destinations can only be EU cancer centres.
The length of the training period is a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months, both being renewable.
The winners of the ESO Clinical Fellowships (ECF) will receive a stipend of € 2000 per month and a return economy class ticket to reach their destination. To honour the memory of some of the pioneers and leaders of European oncology the ECFs are named as follows:
• Breast cancer surgery: Guidubaldo Querci Della Rovere • Clinical trials: Henry Tagnon • Haematology: Carl Schmidt • Gynaecological oncology: Nina Einhorn • Oncology nursing: Susan Hubbard • Paediatric oncology: Tom Voute • Radiotherapy: Lucien Josef Vanuytsel • Surgical oncology: Bruno Salvadori

- Applications for basic research training will not be accepted.

- ESO does not provide accredited centres.
